Welcome to the Hoke County Parents As Teachers website!
The Hoke County Parents As Teachers program has been funded by the Hoke County Partnership for Children and Families since 1999 and is part of the Family and Consumer Sciences program in Cooperative Extension. Hoke County Parents As Teachers is a free and voluntary family education and support program that serves all families who reside in Hoke County with children prenatal to kindergarten age. We believe that all children should grow up healthy, be successful in school and throughout life, and have a safe, nurturing and happy environment. The program is based on the premises that the parents are the first, best and most influential teacher of their child and that the first five years of life lay the foundation for the child's future successes.
Families who participate in Hoke County Parents As Teachers receive the following services: *Individualized home visits with a certified parent educator *Developmental appropriate activities *Developmental screenings *Group meetings for parents and children *Connections to available community resources
